Duck Dynasty

My take on this whole Duck Dynasty thing is this. Yes you have a right to say whatever you want. That is freedom of speech which is a cornerstone of our democracy. Phil Robertson has a right to say whatever he wants and I will defend to the death his right to say it. However, that does not mean there are no consequences to what you say. I have a right to go out to the street and yell "I hate gay people." But just because I have the right to say that does not mean that people do not have the right (and rightfully so) to be morally outraged by a hateful statement like that. What Phil said was both ignorant and full of hate and while he has the right and the privilege to say it, so do I to condemn and voice my outrage at such a comment. As a supporter of LGBT rights and a advocate of freedom of speech I felt like a need to share this opinion
